Ms. Rosie is a life-long Santa Barbara native. Born and raised in Santa Barbara, she attended local elementary and high schools before pursuing and attaining her Associates Degree is early childhood education at Santa Barbara City College.
Working in early childhood education for over eleven years, Ms. Rosie spent the bulk of that time working for the Santa Barbara County Education Office. In her role with SBCEO, she worked in a variety of preschools in Santa Barbara supporting children in their inclusion program as well as typically developing children. She also earned her Associate Teacher’s Permit certification.
At a certain point in her career, Rosie wanted to put down roots at one school, and Cathedral Oaks Preschool quickly came to mind. Living in the area, the bright yellow preschool has been “a landmark, a part of the background of my life for many years,” according to Rosie.
“I feel like I won the lottery to be able to work here,” she says. “Being here is even more magical than I expected: the environment and the staff are amazing.”
