Andrea Magana-Sapiens - Lead Teacher
Hello everyone, I have been an “805” girl my whole life, specifically Oxnard. Yes, I commute everyday which can get challenging, but once I stepped into the school I was in awe. This school is amazing, Taundra is wonderful, and the other teachers are sweet and inspiring. There is a real sense of community here and it has been nice stepping in and learning along with the children. I have to give Ms. Rosie a shoutout because she was the one that introduced me to the school and encouraged me to come to Cathedral Oaks.
I have worked in the early childhood education field for about six years, but I have been working with children for over ten years. The first few years, I taught swim lessons and that was when I realized I enjoyed working with children and began studying early childhood education at Oxnard College where I received an Associate’s Degree. I later received a child development Teacher permit from the state of California. I am also studying American Sign Language where I took classes from Oxnard College and LA Pierce College in the hopes of entering the Deaf Education field in the future.
My previous company had various preschool locations and I had the opportunity to work or visit several of them and because of that I was able to get inspiration from all the environments and teachers there. My hope is to help children foster curiosity, self-regulation, self-expression, develop social and emotional skills while having fun.
